Service BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) is the world's first voice and broadband data mobile communications service accessible anywhere on the planet.


BGAN is the world's first truly mobile broadband solution, it uses a small, lightweight device to deliver a powerful array of services capable of processing bandwidth-intense and other applications such as: Internet and Intranet access, voice, Voice over IP (VoIP), Fax over IP (FoIP), live media streaming, video conferencing, video store-and-forward, e-mail and large file transfer. For high-demand users on-the-go, BGAN sets a new standard in communications via satellite.

Delivered over the Inmarsat-4 (I-4) network, BGAN services is available in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia since end 2005, BGAN services in the Americas to follow in early 2006. Each satellite in the I-4 Network, the most advanced satellite network available in the world today, has over two hundred spot beams and a global beam covering 85% of the world's land mass. Hardware

BGAN services are compatible with all Inmarsat-approved BGAN devices. BGAN devices range in size, weight, performance and features designed to meet the specific needs of a variety of user groups. BGAN devices are highly portable and able to withstand challenging user environments. BGAN devices come with a BGAN SIM card and a comprehensive user interface called the BGAN Launch Padâ„¢. The BGAN Launch Padâ„¢ simplifies set-up and offers access to all BGAN services and support features making BGAN simple to operate. The BGAN Launch Pad is uniform across all BGAN manufacturer devices.
